The first reference to the tower Bernat de So we have in 1366 when Bernat de So sold it to xxxxxxxxxxxx.
The current tower was built between 1584 -1585 in the context of rivalry with Puigcerdà. Rivalry that was already a long time ago when Llívia Castle located on the mountain top was still standing (before 1479, the year he was knocked down).
In 1834, the tower works as a prison and in 1835, the Town Hall that will last until 1936 moves.
In the late fifties, the family Esteva gave the material of his pharmacy, considered the oldest pharmacy in Europe Llívia the City Council. This material was transferred to the tower Bernat so until, in 1981, inaugurated the Municipal Museum Llívia which comes as a collection.
Currently, the tower acts as a temporary exhibition hall.
